you're already a star, people know who you are, they idolise you. yet you never forgot where you started from, from the simplest performances in the most common streets, touching the lives of everyone, not just those who are able to afford your concert tickets

you look at your watch. it's almost time to knock off. in your heart you're already thinking about what to do after you've stepped out of this... place... especially so if you've asked your friend(s) or whoever out. As the moment draws closer and closer, the anticipation and excitment in your heart becomes increasingly overwhelming. You check your emails again, making sure you've done what you need to accomplish for the day, making sure nothing new comes in. You close microsoft outlook, shut down the computer and picks up your bag...
then your boss taps your shoulder from behind and gives you the biggest arrow of your life.

ok so this week has finally came to an end. finally.
fortunately it has been quite easy to pass by with the activities taking place over the week.
thursday was HQ RSN inter-dept badminton tournament and i sort of took part just to fill up the slots for my department. nevertheless, i still played. lost once, won once and had a walkover, so overall winning percentage is 66.66666666% xD not too bad, considering the fact that i'm not much of a badminton player. it's really much easy to slice a tennis ball compared to a shuttlecock, or at least i think so.
went swimming today in the afternoon and i was halfway through my laps when i had this really bizzare encounter. i was swimming diagonally behind this lady *cough*whale*cough*. i was doing breaststroke and she was swimming freestyle (or front crawl as some people call it). but it was really 'free'style she was doing. her strokes were so vigorous that it was as if she wanted to create a tsunami 10 feet high. but anyway that's not the point. i swore i was a good 10 metres or so behind her (diagonally!), but when my head came out of the water for air at one point, what went into my mouth wasn't air but (you know the rest...)
not a very nice encounter, really.
anyway after the swim, headed down to westmall with thomas and weiquan to watch "drag me to hell". quite scary at some point, but really ridculous at others. quote thomas "i think i laughed more than i was scared la". not that i'm a fan of scary movies but i really think this one isn't good compared to a few others i've watched (i hope they dont drag me to hell for what i post here)
alright, half of june is gone, and most of my senior batch colleagues have ORD-ed already. I'm NEXT!!!
can you smeelllllllllllllll, the pink IC!
alright alright, as for now it's part 2 of the movie: "drag me to office"

this is one of the few commercials that really left an impression on me. just the right amount of humour, and it really delivered well. well done =)

i'm elated, strangely, because federer has just won his very first french open title at roland garros.
all this while, his nemesis aka rafael nadal, had always stood in his way of a career grand slam. if nadal hadn't existed, federer would have long broken pete sampras record of 14 grand slam titles. but yet time and again nadal prevented that by conquering the french open for 4 consecutive years.
tonight, he beat the man that knocked the king of clay out in the 4th round, and by doing so he attained both milestone which he had searched so long for - equalling pete sampras record and filling up the gap in the cabinet which is meant for the french open trophy.
now he has all four - australian open, french open, wimbledon and US open.
next up - wimbledon, 22nd June 2009. last year, he was dethroned (by who i don't think i need to elaborate on). will this year be his year?

i'm dead tired but i thought i should at least blog this before i turn in, before i lost the much needed inspiration (or is it?)
today was definitely a day well spent with the quadruplets. back to working out again after recovering from a gruelling 42.195km last weekend. even the scorching weather (somehow) fail to deter me from taking my babolat racquet (aka angel) and hitting some shots at the courts. though i'm ashamed to say that my skills seem to have fallen a notch. or rather 10 notches. but table tennis before that was great. though unlike tennis, my lazy legs always seem to refuse to budge when standing at the table. but nevertheless it's a great way to hone my reflexes so maybe i can volley better at the net for tennis xD
after that was wii and ps3 at eT's house (see eT? i give you face follow your trademark and type small e and big T). wii games are, as usual, crazily stupid and fun and lastly but not least, freaking hilarious. the only thing that was missing was guitar heros and the drumset. but yea it was still enough to send us laughing everytime the mario kart (controlled by certain players) sink into the sea. anw ps3 games are really pale in comparision to wii games when it comes to entertaining your guests (though i still think little big planet is a great game for that). wii games are more "everyone friendly" while most ps3 games are somehow made for those who are genuinely interested and willing to spend time and much effort seeing that the game plays out well. but of course there are always exceptions like LBP (and sack boy is still as cute as ever)
anw, that kinda sums up my afternoon. kinda looking forward to the next quadruplet gathering where we'll probably be playing table tennis again =D

like how children believed in santa claus, as a typical singaporean kid back then, i've always thought that NS would somehow turn me into some super fit, masculine and garang person. well, i guess it would have been true if i had not ended up in the situation i am in right now..
yesterday's sundown marathon can't really be compared to the first one i did back in 2007. and i guess the only thing i can find fault in is my lack of training.
but ya, what matter's most is still the fact that i completed it =D
42.195km, second one (and counting?)
now i ended up with two very painful legs. i think it's gonna take me quite some time to recover.
anyway, i'm thankful to my running partner because i know the importance of having someone beside you to push you ahead. even if both were to keep quiet, the feeling of knowing that the person is by your side, knowing that you don't want to be left behind and at the same time, not wanting to leave your buddy behind (ironic?) someonw pulls the two (or more) together and gives them strength to carry on.
