today smth that happened made me think abt smth which i told myself sometime ago. sometimes, we should just keep our expectations of others low. expecting too much only (most of the time) result in disappoint, or even worse, getting urself hurt. oh well.
before u blame others, why not think about urself.

coffeeshop talk for noobs:
i always knew there's a difference between teh (tea) and chinese tea (aka dio he or fishing in hokkien), but only today i found out there's such a thing as "chinese kopi". it was actually ordered by this indian guy (my first thought was "wth?! kopi also got different races one ar?"). haha then i found out that it's because non-chinese usually prefer their coffee to be less thick and more sweet.
working is kinda fun anyway, better than sitting around having nothing to do. haha. the toughest job i had so far was unloading 1000 cartons of vitamilk from a container truck along with my brother and cousin. that was hell man.
milo overdose xD

argh stupid rain! was suppose to play tennis with et today but it ended up raining the whole morning. oh well, should have expected it...
so i ended up going to his house to play Wii(wheee). the games are quite lame i think... lol. but they're different from ur usual sit-there-and-press-the-buttons kind of console. the graphics are just so-so. seriously, if given the choice to choose i would still have chosen the ps3 over the Wii. the only factor is that there're still a lack of games currently for the ps3. (FFXIII!!!!)
highlight for wat for wat for wat for wat for watsian...
still highlight!!

i've always thought that it's a good thing to keep my expectations low. i don't really expect to get anything in life, there isn't really anything much i want. no i don't want to be a millionaire, i don't want to drive a mercedes or live in a big house. i just want to live, and indugle in the simple pleasures in life. that's what i've always thought i wanted, and i still think so.
so that i can be easily contented.
but is it always that simple? will i think this way if my situation now were to be different? if i were to be born into some poor family which can barely earn enough to feed me? that i will not know...
i know we've always been thought to aim high, aim for great things in life. but really, i just want to be happy and contented with what i have.
BOO!but there's still something else i still can't figure out. it's still the same as before. or is it?

there's this 24 years old guy who started working at the coffeeshop recently. quite a young age (way too young in fact) for someone to be working there (collecting cups and dishes and wiping the tables etc.). he's hardworking though, from what i heard he works close to 18 hours a day (?!?!). but i must say he speak good hokkien haha. and guess what, he's already married with 2 daugthers. wth he's only 24! kinda makes my cousin, 25, feel like a loser. haha.

ok this is an entirely random entry
the latest chapter of naruto is quite nice (to me). haha, naruto (the character) was actually named by jiraiya because or a random thought he had while eating ramen lol.
today was quite random. was on my way home from queensway after some buying some stuff when i bumped into some rv guys on their way to play soccer, so i just joined them. in my sandals.
ok another random stuff. my mum just showed me a letter saying i got the EAGLES award. haha.
and to end off with a random thought. when i grow up i want to live in either a hdb flat or condo, preferably a condo like the one eugene teo lives in where they have those old convenient stores downstairs. but such condos are hard to find. anw the reason for that is that there're street soccer courts and tennis courts (for condo) that will satisfy my sudden urge to play soccer/tennis, and there'll be convenient stores nearby selling 1.5 litre drinks cheaper than 7-11 selling them at 500ml. haha.

kendrick lee couldn't put up much of a fight against olympic champion taufik hidayat. the difference in skill, power and speed was clear.
on the other hand, the young lions (soccer) completely owned the vietnamese. it was a completely one-sided game and the competition had already ended before the hour mark when the lions were 4-0 up. but ridhuan muhd's middle finger(s) and a loud "F*** YOU!" at the referee for a bad call was pretty loud and obvious when the camera was on him. HAHAHA. and the referee didn't see it. (or maybe he didn't understand english).

whew today felt good. but let's talk abit about the past few days. tuesday had a game of soccer at st. wilfred's stadium (issit?). synthetic pitch. but not as nice as the cage though cos the ball kept going out. i prefer continuous kicking, blocking, tackling and heading of the ball. so the cage rocks haha.
the past 2 days were spend helping out my dad at the coffeeshop. not bad la, just helping to mend the counter. but having 4 or 5 customers coming at once can be quite messy. and i still dunno wat the heck is the diff between kopi and kopi-c, teh and teh-c. whenever i ask the auntie she will just say "u collect the money, we make the stuff".
today played tennis for 4.5 hours. whoa. shiok man. my face is lobster red now haha.
been watching a lot of the sea games this week. i somehow missed the singapore thailand soccer semis for reasons i still cannot figure out. i thought the delayed telecast is at 11:30 (or so it said on the newspaper and on tv) but somehow it didn't show when i turn on the tv. wth. the youngsters lost 3-0 anw. didn't expect them to win against the strong thai team.
anw kendrick lee (badminton) played well for his semi finals match against the thailand world no. 16 (or issit? haha i forgot his name). the second set saw a close fight between the 2 shuttlers. 22-20. good fight back from the thai's game point. and i thought kendrick's backhand was damn good. quick and powerful. good fight. good win. but the commentator was super irritating. he kept cheering for kendrick. wth that's not what a commentator is suppose to do!
and both nicole and tabitha tay are cute haha.

was watching sea games yesterday. finally ch5 has decided to show something else besides table tennis and swimming.
oh and i thought the young lions (soccer) put up a lacklustre performance against malaysia the other day. it's true that they drew to qualify but really they could have won by a big margin if they had taken their chances. but we have to give credit to them for remaining calm despite falling behind by a goal in the 70th minute.
anw yesterday i was watching seprak takraw (or however u spell that). i thought their serves were damn cool. the spin serve especially. too bad you can't put that much spin on a soccer ball in that kind of posture. other than the serves, the entire game was dominated by blocks, setting up and then killing with the overhead kick, so i thought it lacked some variety, haha. except once when the indonesian did a drop shot with his sole while in mid air in his overhead kick position. that was skill.
as for swimming, zach ong's gold medal finish in the 100m backstroke reminded me of how zhenjie won his 800m (track) back when we were in sec4. it was exactly the same - the way they were behind the others and come chasing and overtaking the whole world at the last stretch, and the way they punch their fist in the air in pure elation as they hit home for the gold (when they had not expected it).
that victory is sweet.

i seriously need to get my internet connection fixed asap. it's pissing me off really badly. especially since i cannot sign in to windows live messenger.
on another note, this week had been a busy one, starting with the marathon on sunday morning and prom the day after. and there's post prom which resulted in me reaching home at 7am in the morning. and to top it up there's class chalet from wednesday till today so you can have some idea how screwed my biological clock is now.
and my brain as well. i somehow feel kinda blur.
huh?
