it's the weekend. finally.
it's been hell i must say. all that mugging almost made me lose my head. managed to keep sane though, barely. its like everywhere i go, i see people mugging. everywhere. even the people i hang around with in class has decided that mugging should be their new hobby. i know A's are coming and we need to study and all that, but i really don't want to turn my life into a mug-non-stop-until-you-drop kind of life.
anw, national 5's ended today. my team (consisting of me, zhikai, ting yang, ben, stanley and sean) manage to cruise into the quater finals after a comfortable win in the group stage. the quaterfinal match saw a close fight between the 2 teams. we had quite a number of chances, or rather, i had quite a number of chances, but failed to convert any. a shot just wide, a header sailing over the crossbar and another hitting the post. the score was 0-0 at full time and it was down to sudden death penalties to break the deadlock. lady luck was not on our side (seriously) and everything ended when my shot was parried away to safety by the keeper.
oh well, it was a good match and i'm glad i played. qingsheng scored a brillant goal for his penalty when he fooled the keeper completely with a superb lob. but his team was unexpectedly knocked out in the semis. the finals was one which not many people had predicted it to be as the stronger teams were surprisingy knocked out in the earlier stages. oh well, the ball is round after all.
at least the week ended on a high note. yep =)

finally.
i felt better after i manage to get that brain of mine working again. and it went quite well. managed to complete quite a fair amount of work today. and im happy for that. good work aaron. haha.
i sound like someone who derive pleasure from mugging but i assure you i'm not.
this is just the beginning, more work to come. bring it on man!! (but here i'm trying to change my attitude towards doing work, hoping to make things better, haha)

i'm totally in no mood to mug right now. let's see... today i woke up at 11, played my ps3, went online, and took a nap and before i realised it, it's dinner time. and now i'm here in front of this computer, stoning. this is bad...
tmr i seriously need to spend the entire day mugging or else i can just say goodbye to my As. time to revisit my mugging arena again. oh yar, and there's this certain someone i can't lose to in physics, so i shall make that as my motivation to study. common test results in order of PCME and GP - ECDUD. I read it as: "ECons Died, U Died". I need to do somnething about my econs and math.
another worrying issue - i'm becoming fat. with track gone, the restrictions i've put on food is gone as well. i remember taking that tub of ben and jerry's ice-cream (some chocolate fudge thingy flavour) out of my fridge and my brother was staring at me like i've taken something that belonged to him. "since when do you eat that?" was his question. not just ice cream, the intake of oily food have shot up in the last week as well. why must all the good food be unhealthy. i don't dare to stand on the weighing machine now.
fortunately i've been soccer-ing and tennis-ing the last week, if not i can't imagine what i will look like in the months to come.

that last burst... (the photographer didnt take my head -.-)

been wanting to type this for quite some time already but i thought i should save it for today.
anw, today marked the end of the 48th national inter-school track & field championships. well, i guess everything went well, though i must admit that it hurts to lose the top4 placing (the girls, that is). yujia came back from a bad start to finish 3rd in her 100m race. raman, lynette and andre battled their hearts out for their 800m and 1500m races. the girls came in 3rd for 4x100m and 2nd for 4x400m. well done.
after prize presentation, people were cheering, some were singing school song, others doing their victory laps while we were busy taking photos. then it dawned on me that this would be the last time i'll be part of this atmosphere. it has been a long way since i started track in river valley high. it had been hard, training was never easy, but it gave me a goal, gave me something to work towards. now that track is gone, i seem to have lost something close to me, lost half my life. i feel kind of useless without it. but life goes on. i need to find something new.
something for me to fight for.
for now, i guess this is it...
goodbye choa chu kang stadium, goodbye gombak stadium
goodbye baton, goodbye starting blocks
goodbye spikes
goodbye track & field

day5:
grace and lynette were the first ones to bring points for the girls team when they came in 2nd and 8th for 400m hurdles respectively. shortly after that raman came in 5th in the 1500m b div girls. miao qun and melissa also did well for their 1500m run. 200m girls heats was right after that. no sweat as our girls qualified for the semis easily. 4x400m girls in the afternoon. our 'a' girls team was the first qualifier, 7secs away from rjc. but still we couldn't let our guards down cos they didn't fill in their best team. 1500m guys after that, in which andre qualifed for the finals
day6:
guys 4x400m in the morning. we failed to make it to the finals yet again. but this time i must admit we didn't stand a chance at all. ijc was surprisingly strong, beating schools like rj, vj, hc, ac, mi to emerge top qualifiers. we didnt run with our best runners but even if we did, i dont think the results will be much different. 200m semis right after that (yea, same session, guess how tired i was). the girls made it to the finals as expected. what was unexpected was i managed to clock my pb despite dying after the 4x400m. 24.82. 15th. that was the furthest i went. ben did his pb as well.
afternoon session was the 80/100/110m hurdles and 200m finals. jiahui and grace came in 9th and 10th respectively. obviously lady luck refuses to side with us. as for 200m, shalom, yujia and esther came in 2nd, 4th and 7th respectively, congrats!. oh and btw, kai sheng from tjc is a monster. mooonnnnnsssttteeerrrrrrr!!!
day7:
qiu ling came in 9th for her 3000m b girls finals, just 1 position away from securing more points for our b girls team. as for 400m finals, shalom came in 2nd again (whoa...) while esther came in 5th due to a knee injury. a pity...
that's abt it for now, i'll type more again the next time..

day3:
3000m girls in the morning, nth much to see, at least for 'a' division. boring session. and the officials seriously need to make major changes to the schedule next year because not only 3000m and 1500m was on the same day for the girls... the 'new and deproved' schedule cost me my 400m semis today. wonderful.
afternoon was more exciting. 400m girls, as expected, dominated by the usual few. 800m guys, the first heat saw all the sub 2:10 running against each other. the second heat was plain lousy, except for 1 runner. 1500 girls after that. miao qun and melissa qualified finals. and whoa! the guys team got 3 points today, thanks to joshua(su)'s 6th placing is his discus event, exceeding last years total tally of 2 pathetic points. yay.
day4:
400mH in the morning. grace and lynette managed to hurdle their way to the finals, which will be held tmr morning. not gonna miss that one. 200m boys after that. improved from last year's timing, surprisingly, cus my run didnt felt good. 24.97. qualified for semis. last qualifier was 25.60. damn slowed compared to last year's last qualifier, 25.12 (by me lol).
after my 200m had a pathetic 2hr+ rest before my 400m (see what i mean by lousy schedule?). i was expecting to qualify though, only this time the 400m last qualifier was faster than last year's. and super unfortunately i was 25th when 24 can make it to semis. worse off, jee poh was 26th. quoted from yeowlin, "你们真的是suay到烂". i couldn't agree more. haix... oh well, someone have to be 25th isnt it?
(why me?)

day1:
3000m kicked start the event, but it was a boring start since the fast runners arent going fast as it was the heats only, and the slow runners were taking a really long time to finish the race. the rain came and dampened the mood at the stadium even further. but things took a turn after the "rain concert" ended. 400m girls was next. there was one stupid mistake though, made by the officials. apparently 1 girl in lane 2 started at the 4x400m starting lane instead of the 4x100m/400m starting line, so she ran abt 395m instead of 400. the starter + 4 other officials at the starting line didn't notice and started the race despite the spectators shouting at them. but it didnt matter, she didnt qualify anyway.
afternoon was 100m heats for all 3 divisions, boys and girls. an acsi b boy false started the second time and got DSQ-ed. he didn't even get to run. the first false start wasn't by him. damn sad right? so much for all that training. anyway, naraen + all 3 100m gals made it into the semis. ben missed semis by 0.2s.
day2:
4x100m - the race which we had worked so hard for. we tried so hard and got so far, in the end, we still couldn't make it. well, like what ben said, "we came, we fought, we left with our heads held high". quite an achievement considering our team is made up of only 2 trackers, 1 ex-soccer player and 1 chinese dancer. the girls on the other hand, managed to book a place in the finals, lane 4.
afternoon was 100m semis. this time only yujia qualified for the finals. 2nd qualifier. usarin missed the finals by 0.02s (WTF) and wan ching missed it by 0.07s (WTH). they got 9th and 10th respectively. well i guess lady luck just wasn't on their side. naraen's timing for his heats was better. as for throwers, joshua's shot put qualified for the finals but couldn't squeeze into top 8. feifan jumped well for her triple jump but i guess it just wasn't good enough.
6 more days. go team nj.
there can be no triumph, without loss

caught 2 movies in 4 days, 2 completely different movies.
the first one was transformers, which i watched with some track guys. basically, it's just a 1% storyline and 99% mindless shooting, explosion, blowing up stuff and yea... you get the drift. so if you want to see some real action, that's the movie for you. and this is the kind of movie which i'm willing to fork out more money in order to catch it again, because as i've explained above, the storyline didn't matter, lol. the CG was good, the movie was breathtaking, the robots were cool, great movie. a pity they had to follow the original story and make the autobots transform into cars, lorrys, trucks etc. while the decepticons are all the cool F-22, tanks and helicopters. nevertheless, bumblebee is cool.
the second movie is completely different from transformers. the girl who leapt through time (toki wo kakeru shojo). ok it's an anime movie, only shown in cathay cinemas. basically it's about a girl who gain the ability to 'leap' back in time. initially using this power for her own benefit, she later discover that changing the past isn't that simple and saw how her action can affect others greatly. great storyline, i enjoyed it. and not to mention the whole load of humor present. touching ending.
haha, can really see the 2 movies i caught were complete opposites of each other. but nevertheless, i enjoyed them both.
